Advanced Periodontics & Implant Dentistry is a specialist periodontal and dental implant practice with offices in Manhattan, Franklin Square, Long Island, Bronxville in Westchester and Nutley, New Jersey. Every doctor on our team is a periodontist: a specialist who has completed years of additional training in the gums and jawbone, the two things that decide whether natural teeth survive and whether a dental implant lasts. We treat gum disease, save teeth where they can be saved, and replace them with implants where they can’t.
Why A Specialist Practice
Most dental implant problems start below the gum line: not enough bone, active gum disease, or an implant placed without a plan for either. That’s why so many of our patients are referred to us, or come to us for a second opinion after an implant placed elsewhere has failed. Our periodontists plan and place the implant, manage the bone and gum around it, and look after it over the long term.

Dr. Richard Nejat, DDS
Dr. Richard Nejat is a board-certified periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University and completed a three-year residency in periodontics and dental implants at Stony Brook University. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at both NYU and Stony Brook, has lectured nationally and internationally since 2000, including at the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration, and has served as a research investigator on clinical trials in bone grafting and periodontal therapy. Dr. Daniel Nejat, DMD
Dr. Daniel Nejat is a board-certified periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed three years of postgraduate training in periodontics at the NYU College of Dentistry. He has published peer-reviewed continuing education articles on periodontal inflammation and implant maintenance, and is recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Dentist for 2026. Dr. Eugenie Lee is a board-certified periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine with honors at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, then completed a three-year residency in periodontics and a master’s degree at the University of Maryland. Dr. Daniel Schinazi, DDS
Dr. Daniel Schinazi is a board-certified periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the NYU College of Dentistry, graduating with honors in periodontics and implantology, and received the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics and the Bernard Rudner Award for comprehensive care. How We Treat Patients
Our approach is conservative. We would rather save a tooth than replace it, and when a tooth can’t be saved we plan the replacement around your bone, your bite and your budget, not around a single preferred procedure. Every treatment plan is explained in full, including the options we don’t recommend and why.
All our periodontists are trained in the LANAP protocol through the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, so laser gum surgery is available alongside conventional gum disease treatment.
The Technology We Use
Implant treatment here is planned digitally before it starts. We use CBCT 3D imaging to measure the bone, computer-guided surgery and Navident dynamic navigation to place implants precisely, and digital impressions and photogrammetry to fit the teeth that go on top.
