Dr. Annemarie Olga Athansios

Dr. Annemarie O. Athansios obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) graduating with honors from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). At RSDM she was selected by the faculty committee for exceptional professionalism and ethics granting her the “Professionalism Award” and, in addition, she was also recognized for her volunteer work by the New Jersey Dental Association and was acknowledged with the “Give Kids a Smile Award”.

Dr. Athansios continued her postgraduate 3-year residency training in Periodontics and earned her Masters of Dental Science degree at Rutgers university. During her post graduate tenure Dr. Athansios presented at Tri-school Symposium, served as chief resident, received a degree from the Institute of Advanced Laser Dentistry, and was awarded the Michael J. Deasy Endowed Scholarship. Dr. Athansios’s passion towards the field is reflected when she mentors many students at the high school and college level that wish pursue a career in dentistry. She also enjoys going on mission trips with colleagues to renders dental treatment to the underprivileged communities in foreign countries such as Bolivia, Dominican Republic and Egypt.

 

Dr. Daniel Schinazi

 

Dr. Daniel Schinazi received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the New York University, College of Dentistry, graduating with honors in Periodontics & Implantology. Dr. Schinazi was rewarded the Quintessence award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics, as well as the Bernard Rudner award for comprehensive care and clinical excellence. Dr. Schinazi continued his post doctorate training in Periodontics & Implantology at NYU College of Dentistry.

Dr. Schinazi prides himself on comprehensive patient care, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and a compassionate approach to patient needs. Dr. Schinazi is continuously staying up to date with innovative technology & techniques in order to provide individualized & advanced care for his patients. Some of which include, the minimally invasive laser technology, LANAP, for treating gum disease and failing implants.

In his free time, Dr. Schinazi enjoys spending time with his wife and two small children, playing basketball, listening to music and traveling.

Dr. Richard Nejat

Dr. Richard Nejat, DDS

Dr. Richard Nejat is a board-certified periodontist offering leading-edge dental implant placement and gum surgery techniques. Dr. Nejat has completed many years of advanced training at highly recognized medical institutions and is a member of numerous leading professional organizations. Recognized as a foremost New York dental implants provider, Dr. Richard Nejat is frequently invited to lecture at professional seminars and symposiums.

Dr. Nejat attended college at Drew University and continued his education at New York University where he attained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Nejat was elected to membership in the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon, The National Dental Honor Society recognizing academic and clinical excellence in dentistry. Dr. Nejat completed a three-year residency in Periodontics and Dental Implants, earning his certificate in Periodontics from The State University of New York at Stony Brook University. Dr Nejat is currently Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Implant Dentistry & Periodontics and Full-Mouth Rehabilitation CE Course at New York University. He is also is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Implant Dentistry & Periodontics at Stony Brook University In addition to his professorship at New York University and Stony Brook University, Dr. Nejat maintains private practices in Manhattan and Nutley, New Jersey.

Dr. Nejat is active in professional continuing education. He lectures national and international at the American Academy of Periodontology annual meetings, Academy of Osseointegration annual meetings, and dental societies on topics including:

Through an educational grant from Colgate, Dr. Nejat published a continuing education article entitled: “Periodontal Inflammation: The Oral Body Connection.” This peer-reviewed publication was designed to help dentists, physicians, dental hygienists, and dental assistants understand the relationship between periodontal disease and its systemic influence.

Dr. Nejat was a Research Investigator on two major projects: (1) A Pivotal, Randomized, Parallel Evaluation of Recombinate Bone Morphogenic Protein-2/ ACS and Standard Bone Grafting Materials for Maxillary Sinus Floor Augmentation, and (2) a Multi-center Phase 3 Trial of Minocycline Periodontal Therapeutic System (Minocycline PTS): Adjunctive Use in Patients with Adult Periodontitis. Both of these medical devices have received FDA Approval.

Currently, Dr. Nejat is involved in numerous clinical research projects on topics including: flapless dental implant surgery, minimally invasive periodontal plastic surgeries, and computer guided dental implant surgery with immediate function. He has developed a new 3D/CAD-CAM technique that allow for an Immediate smile with dental implants in cases where extractions are needed in a minimally invasive manner.

Dr. Nejat is a member of the American Dental Association, American Board of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, Northeastern Society of Periodontists, New Jersey Society of Periodontists, New York Dental Society, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Nejat specializes in same day dental implants with immediate function (Same day implant teeth), and he is consistently invited to lecture on the topics in his area of expertise: minimally invasive and computer guided dental implant surgery with immediate function. Dr. Nejat has lectured on these topics numerous times on the main podiums at the annual meetings of both the Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.

As a top New York City periodontist, Dr. Nejat was appointed by the Academy of the Osseointegration as a section participant of the State of the Science on Implant Dentistry Consensus Conference. The findings of this meeting will be used by dentists and dental specialists internationally to guide them on the current methods and research within the field of implant dentistry. Dr. Nejat volunteers for the American Association of Women Dentists program for battered women, “Smiles for Success”, which helps build self-confidence in these individuals as they begin anew. He also volunteers for the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s “Give Back a Smile” Program, which helps needy people get the proper care to get their smiles back using his Smile in a Day™ procedure. Recently, Dr. Nejat has been featured on UPN/Fox News with a live computer guided dental implant surgery demonstrating NobelGuide™ and Teeth-in-an-Hour™.

In his leisure time, Dr. Nejat enjoys photography, mountain biking, but mostly just spending quality time with his wife Tiffany and their sons James, Ashton & Miles.

Dr. Daniel Nejat graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Bachelor of Arts from Drew University. He continued his education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Dental School, where he was honored with the UMDNJ-NJDS Academic Scholarship, received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, and was presented with an award in the Excellence in Oral Pathology.

After completing dental school, Dr. Daniel Nejat continued his training at New York University School of Dentistry for an additional 3 years post-graduate training in periodontics. During his training, he mastered the art and science of periodontics and implantology from some of the best periodontists in the country.

Through an educational grant from Colgate, Dr. Daniel Nejat has also published two continuing education articles: “Periodontal Inflammation: The Oral Body Connection” and “Controlling the Intraoral Environment Before and After Implant Therapy”. These are peer-reviewed publications that were designed to help dentists, physicians, dental hygienists and dental assistants understand the relationship between periodontal disease and its systemic influence as well as how to maintain newly placed dental implants.

Dr. Daniel Nejat has given presentations at the Greater New York Dental Meeting, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists, and the Metropolitan Periodontal Symposium about the benefits and techniques involved in minimally invasive periodontal and implant surgery with the use of computer guided dental implant technology.

Dr. Daniel Nejat is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists, the American Board of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the New York Dental Society.

Dr. Daniel Nejat practices with the philosophy of a conservative, minimally invasive and gentle approach in treating his patients. He also believes in educating patients about their dental needs and good oral hygiene, as maintenance of their teeth and implants are vital for a successful long term periodontal and implant treatment. In his spare time, Dr. Daniel Nejat enjoys playing racquetball, jogging, reading, photography, and taking long walks.

Dr. Eugenie Lee

Dr. Lee is a board-certified periodontist, with training in the most modern dental implant and regenerative, hard and soft tissue techniques.Dr. Lee attended college at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, where she completed a 3-year accelerated track, followed by her dental doctorate at the University of Medicine and Dentistry – New Jersey Dental School in 2008. She graduated with honors and received the Dental Implant Student Award. She further went on to complete a 3-year, postgraduate residency program in Periodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore, earning a certificate in Periodontics in 2011. Dr. Lee is in private practice in Nutley, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the New Jersey Dental School.
She achieved her Master’s Degree while at Maryland with the Department of Oral Biology and completed research regarding a systematic review looking at the frequency of furcation closure with regenerative treatments of Grade II furcation invasion in mandibular molars. She was also involved in periodontal research at UMDNJ while in dental school regarding aggressive periodontitis and its virulence factors.
Dr. Lee is trained in treatment-planning and full-mouth rehabilitation, and is also involved in computer-guided implant dentistry. She has presented at the Northeast Implant Symposium on soft tissue coverage around implants using acellular dermal matrix. She continues to expand her periodontal scope by continuing education, and she strives to ultimately provide proper individualized comprehensive periodontal and implant treatment for every patient.
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Northeastern Society of Periodontists. Dr. Lee is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, Department Periodontics. She has volunteered for “Give Kids a Smile Day” and provided emergency, need-based dental care on a week-long dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2008.
